Submit to Inkwell
Inkwell Journal, a literary journal published through the MFA program at Manhattanville College, seeks submissions in English of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction/memoir, graphic narrative, visual art, and cross-form work. We are interested in both established and new voices, including voices that have been historically underrepresented. Thank you so much for considering us for the publication of your work.
Submissions for Issue 36 will open on August 15, 2020.

Submission Guidelines
For Issue 36, we are considering both general submissions and submissions on the following theme . . .
Resilience: The capability of a strained body to recover its form; or an ability to recover from or adjust to misfortune or change.
Send your work through our Submittable portal.
Please send one submission only, in any form. Additional submissions may be declined without review. Please send unpublished work only. (Visual artists: see a note on Visual Art, below.)
Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us immediately if your piece is taken elsewhere. If you are unable to submit via Submittable for any reason, please contact us.
For fee-free submissions, submit early in the month. To manage costs, we must take Tip-Jar-only submissions when volume reaches a certain level each month. We are very grateful for voluntary contributions to our Tip Jar, which help keep submissions free for those who need it. Tip Jar submissions are not given special consideration. We review submissions in the order they are received.
Poetry: One document of no more than 10 pages, containing up to 3 poems.
Prose: One piece of fiction, memoir, or creative nonfiction. We have no set maximum or minimum length, though most of the prose we publish is between 3,000-6,000 words.
Visual Art: We are considering portfolios on the theme only. Submit one PDF file containing 3-5 images. If we accept your work and need individual high-resolution files, we will send you a request. A note on Visual Art: “previously unpublished” refers to the portfolio as a whole. It's okay if individual works in the portfolio were displayed or published elsewhere, but please make sure to provide the appropriate credits. And please don’t submit more than one portfolio! Additional submissions may be declined without review.
For Cross-Form: One submission of no more than 10 pages.
For Graphic Narrative: One submission of no more than 10 pages.
